Immediate Laboratory Data
Most routine laboratory work is done at the time of your visit so that the physician can detect early disease and, as much as possible, carry out examinations or treatments at a single visit. You will receive copies of these results at the time of service.
Laboratory Work Done After Your Visit
Some tests cannot be done during your visit because they take longer to do or are done other than in our office. If your treatment requires, we call you after the results are reviewed. Otherwise, you will be given copies of the results at your next visit.
Your Laboratory Database
We develop a spreadsheet of your laboratory values for up to six prior visits. A weighted average of values for five prior visits is part of this database. Part of our action plan to manage your health is based on trend analysis of laboratory data.
Our Laboratory Accreditation
For 26 years our Physician Office Laboratory has met all the criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.
COLA is approved by the federal government CLIA program and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine, the College of American Pathologists, and the American Osteopathic Association.
